A home automation garage door is the door you already have, connected to the system that runs the rest of the house. It reports whether it is open, closes as part of a scene rather than as a separate errand, and tells you when it has been left up. We work on the control side — the opener and the door itself stay as they are.

Connecting Your Garage Door to the System

A controller sits alongside the existing opener and does two things: it reads the door’s position from a sensor, and it can operate the opener the same way a wall button does. From that point the garage stops being a separate remote in a car and becomes part of the house.

The most useful result is the simplest one. The garage door is the opening most often left up by accident — nobody forgets a front door, and almost everybody has driven away wondering about the garage. Once the system knows the position, it can tell you, and it can act: close on a schedule, close when the last person leaves, or just say so before you get too far.

Scenes are the other half. A leaving scene closes the door alongside locking up, dropping the climate, and turning everything off; an arriving one can open it and bring up the lights inside before you reach the door with your hands full. Two things get checked before any of this is quoted. Whether the opener can be operated by a controller — most units made in the last two decades can, older ones without modern safety sensors cannot and should not be. After the work is finished we run the system with you on site and set up the mobile app before we leave.

Warranty, Service Area, and Payment

Lock and Tech USA backs new installations with a 90-day mechanical warranty and a 12-month electrical warranty, covering both parts and labor. Repairs are not covered by a warranty. We provide installation within 75 miles of Midtown Manhattan and support extended zones, multiple locations, and multi-site service for clients with several properties. Phone and email support is available during business hours.

We accept cash, wire transfer, ACH, credit card, and check, as well as Zelle and Venmo, and we offer invoicing and business accounts for commercial clients. Depending on the size of the job, payment is typically a partial deposit up front with the balance collected on completion. Before starting, we require a signed contract and a tax exemption form if applicable.
